PB hotel design editorial

At 70 floors, the glass tower rising above Brickell Avenue was, at its 2003 completion, the tallest building in Florida — a distinction that gave the Four Seasons Hotel Miami an unusual brief: to make intimate hospitality legible within a structure whose primary identity is sheer vertical ambition. Arquitectonica, the Miami firm that has shaped much of the city's skyline, designed the mixed-use tower in collaboration with the hotel, which fills the lower floors while residences and office space claim the upper reaches. The curtain wall of reflective glass, visible in the images angled against a blue subtropical sky, carries the building's mass with the clean linearity typical of Arquitectonica's commercial work. The interiors, refreshed in recent years, pursue a warmth that counterbalances the tower's corporate scale. Guest rooms show a palette of cream, amber, and walnut — arched, ribbed headboards in ticking-stripe fabric mounted in bronze frames, saffron-toned custom rugs with abstracted botanical motifs, and branch-form floor lamps that bring an almost residential quietness to rooms with panoramic views over Biscayne Bay. The restaurant presents a different register entirely: fluted wall panels, arched mirror surrounds, herringbone hardwood floors, and moss-green velvet club chairs arranged around dark timber tables beneath cluster pendant lights. Below, a broad pool terrace lined with royal palms and white canvas umbrellas offers the one space where the tower's height recedes entirely and Miami's tropical light takes over.

Four Seasons Hotel Miami Reviews

"We have been here for 2 days and staying for another 5 days in a residence attached to the hotel. The residence is spacious but poorly decorated with carpets that have seen better days, a pot with egg that hasn't been thoroughly washed, a shower curtain with mold, walls with marks on the, not the Four Seasons experienceon would expect. The windows cannot open and there is no balcony so the condo is not pleasant. The hotel lobby is always freezing and they have a repulsive air freshener circulating. The outside area is wonderful and makes the noisy downtown bearable."

"What a dream! My husband and I returned and just spent a glorious week here to meet up with friends traveling here to run the Miami half marathon. We were lucky to make it out ahead of the snowstorms in NY that grounded flights for several days and spent a week here. Coming in January is heavenly, it’s so nice to escape the cold for some sun and warm weather. This is a beautiful property, well-appointed and luxurious, as you’d expect from the brand. This location is special for a couple reasons beyond what is typical: first, the location in Brickell is fantastic. Walkable to Brickell City Center, many great restaurants and shops and the water. A short car ride to Key Biscayne, the Design District and Miami Beach where there are so many other great restaurants and spots. The hotel doesn’t have a designated gym but shares a building with an Equinox and grants full access to guests, including classes and facilities and spa options. Incredibly convenient and a top notch offering. Breakfast is a favorite, so many food options and the best staff. The bar is currently under construction, so they’ve temporarily relocated a bar adjacent to the second elevator bank, making the expansive lobby even more lively than usual. We were here last January for the same event and had an equally wonderful experience and love our new January tradition! So much, in fact, we may look for an excuse to return again this winter to escape the polar vortex plaguing the Northeast."

"As always the service at Four Seasons hotels stands out. The Miami location is no exception. We stayed there for four nights recently. An hour after we got to the room we heard loud hammering and sawing. They had previously texted me to make sure all was okay. (My husband had not felt 100% when we first arrived and they were very kind.) I asked when the "repair work" near our room would be done. A few minutes later the work stopped and we never heard anymore. The front desk credited several costs on our bill although I did not ask for any compensation. We dined at their restaurant, Nuna, and really enjoyed our meal. The hotel is located with in walking distance of many wonderful restaurants. The only negative was I was expecting a typical Four Seasons spa, but it is part of a local gym and not the luxurious experience I have experienced at other Four Seasons properties. That would not stop me from a repeat stay."

"On New Year’s Eve, we had a reservation at the Four Seasons Miami, for 10:00 PM but we weren’t seated until 11:45 PM—and only at the bar. The music was extremely loud, and there was a fixed menu. A young lady manager, recently transferred from the Four Seasons in Mexico, apologized for the poor handling of our reservation and what was meant to be an exceptional New Year’s Eve experience for our guests and ourselves. I asked her to cancel our reservation and ensure that our credit card was not charged. We then had to scramble to find last-minute alternatives to celebrate the New Year. I’ve visited Rancho Encantado in New Mexico, the Four Seasons in Prague, and the Four Seasons in Philadelphia, and this experience was far from what I’ve come to expect from the Four Seasons brand."
