PB hotel design editorial

Wrapped around two Greg Norman-designed championship golf courses in the private community of Tiburón, a Mediterranean Revival structure rising six stories above a lake-edged fairway carries the visual grammar of old Florida wealth — terracotta-tiled rooftop pavilions, cream stucco walls, and dark navy awnings striped against arched loggias — with an almost theatrical commitment to type. The Ritz-Carlton Naples, Tiburón opened in 2000 as part of the broader Tiburón development in North Naples, its massing organized into a symmetrical composition of corner towers with copper-finaled cupolas that read, from across the water, more like a Venetian villa than a conventional resort hotel. The property holds 295 rooms across its six floors, each with a private balcony positioned to take in either the fairways or the surrounding subtropical canopy. Inside, the guest rooms layer camel-toned upholstered headboards with woven rattan mirror surrounds, dark mahogany case furniture, and patterned wool carpeting in warm grey — a palette calibrated for the Florida light that floods in through floor-to-ceiling sliding doors. The outdoor spaces carry a more contemporary hand: the pool deck is lined with deep-slatted teak cabanas set into planted alcoves of queen palms and tropical understory, while the terrace dining area deploys oversized cantilever umbrellas in natural canvas above rope-woven chairs and teak round tables, the planters and stone cladding grounding the whole arrangement in a quieter, more current register than the building's Mediterranean facade might suggest.

The Ritz-Carlton Naples, Tiburón Reviews

"We stayed at the ritz Tiburón for 4 nights and split our vacation between this and another hotel. We had 2 rooms for our family of 5. The rooms were outdated but comfortable. The cleanliness could have been improved with a giant sticky spot on the carpet we kept stepping in and my kids found a baggie of pills behind the bed. We chose this loc over the beach resort for the pools and waterslides for the kids, but the pool area was a little disappointing. It was nice and quiet, service was great and the food was good. We wished for better communication ahead of time of when the restaurants, cafe or pool would be closed. Overall, it was a nice experience."

"Came for work but stayed a couple days after to get some down time with my wife. Had an amazing time!! Weather was a tad chilly but overall awesome. Now, I must call out Chrissy at the pool. She was such a breath of fresh air and even put up with my nonsense. Took time to chat with us and just an overall an amazing person. Please tell Chrissy that Derek and Rachel can’t wait to visit again and get a Napples Pier at the pool :)"

"We traveled from New York to escape the cold for a few days for my son’s birthday. The experience was absolutely amazing, the hotel is gorgeous, the food is delicious but what makes them stand out is the service. Everyone went above and beyond to make our stay memorable. We will definitely be back!"

"Fantastic stay at the Ritz! We also did the club lounge as we often do a the RC. Our room was comfortable and well maintained. The service was top notch - we even arrived really late and needed a couple of things and people were there to help almost immediately. Having the sister Ritz Carlton a couple of miles away was awesome - we could use all the facilities at the beach one with no issue. Highly recommend doing that!! The club lounge staff was so great - shoutouts to Leann, Janet and Michael for being so personable and helpful. Breakfast and lunch were so delicious with a good variety . After a tiring day of the sun, to be able to go and have a cocktail (or two) and appetizers was the best. Worth the money!"

"This is a skip. Book the Ritz Napels on the beach. The Tiburon is tired and simply exceptionally overpriced for what it is today relative to other options. We had a remarkably bad smell in our room, reported it, asked to transfer to the beach, and were denied because we "chose" to prepay for the room (was required for the holiday booking). We were offered 10,000 points or $55 as compensation. Spouse had to shower in our adjoining room due to the oder in our master room. Ritz prices but doesn't come close to delivering the performance for the price. Parents room had hair stuck to the shower wall upon check in."
