PB hotel design editorial

Few stretches of Florida coastline carry the social weight of the Manalapan shore, where a narrow barrier island separates the Atlantic from Lake Worth with a discretion that seems almost architectural. Eau Palm Beach Resort & Spa has held this address since 1958, when the property debuted as a Ritz-Carlton predecessor, and its Mediterranean Revival bones — warm ochre stucco, terracotta hip roofs, corner campaniles — remain the dominant gesture visible from the water. The aerial view confirms what the building has always understood: that scale, when handled through repeated archways, symmetrical massing, and a palm-lined progression down to the sand, can feel generous rather than institutional. The interiors, redesigned by Jonathan Adler following a substantial renovation completed in 2013, represent perhaps the most confident application of his maximalist sensibility to a resort of this size — 309 rooms across six floors. Guestrooms arrive in cobalt blue and solar yellow, with sculptural four-poster beds upholstered in graphic block-print fabric, honeycomb-patterned wool carpets, and lacquered stacked-cube nightstands that signal Adler's debt to mid-century Pop. The dining room takes a cooler position: cream-veined marble floors, arched mirror panels, and a Murano glass chandelier suspended over round tables dressed in white linen, the Atlantic framed through full-height glazed arches. On the pool terrace, travertine pavers and navy-striped loungers pull the palette back toward the building's Mediterranean logic.

"Our overnight stay at Eau Palm Beach was absolutely incredible! My mom and I enjoyed every moment, from the luxurious spa services to the exceptional food and outstanding hospitality. The staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcomed and cared for. We especially loved relaxing at the adults-only pool—it was the perfect peaceful escape. Dinner was a highlight, and the talented piano player at Angle created such a beautiful atmosphere that made the evening even more memorable. Every detail of the resort is thoughtfully designed, and the amenities are truly first class. We left feeling relaxed, refreshed, and already looking forward to our next visit. Highly recommend Eau Palm Beach for anyone looking for a luxurious and unforgettable getaway!"

"I expected a lot from this resort and boy do they deliver! First of all, the employees are above outstanding. There was no one that we ran into that was not friendly, efficient and really cared about our stay. This was not your traditional resort where everybody is nice but they sort of look right past you. But one that you actually feel like you want to talk with them and are truly interested in each other as people. So warm and inviting! Loved the vibe. The entire hotel is above spotless, from the moment we walked in the door we knew we had come to a special place. I loved the lobby area, which was really more like a living room. You felt comfortable sitting around having a cocktail, or playing a game of cards or just people watching. Everything is intimate. Our room was perfect. It overlooked the ocean and was also spotless. The bedding was outstanding as well as all the amenities. We ate at each of the restaurants and they were all very good. Again, outstanding service. I regret not going to the spa but didn’t have the time. I will definitely do that next time as it looked very pretty and peaceful. The pools were great again with outstanding service. I couldn’t find a fault in any portion of this hotel if I tried. The resort is in a great location. It is very uncrowded feeling and within 15 minutes of downtown Palm Beach, where there are more restaurants. But we chose to stay mostly at the resort because we really liked it. I can’t wait to come back someday and highly recommend everyone try it."

"My wife and I live local and went to the Eau to enjoy live music with Arturo Romay. We had no idea the extraordinary evening ahead, including a guitar talent like we’ve never experienced. Our planned one hour evening quickly turned to three. Not only were we blessed by Arturo’s extraordinary music, during his break he was kind enough to share stories of how he came to develop his deep love for guitar starting in Venezuela. We quickly learned that far beyond his talent, Arturo is a special human being. We will not forget this unexpected evening. Thank you Arturo and the Eau. Arturo, we cannot wait to enjoy your music again soon. Don & Cindy Greetham"
