PB hotel design editorial

Few transformations in Florida hospitality have been as quietly radical as the reinvention of a 1960s motorlodge into Palm House, which arrived on the Palm Beach scene in November 2024 with the kind of self-assurance that suggests it was always meant to look this way. Cooper Carry, the Atlanta-based architecture firm behind the structure, reworked the three-story, 79-room building into something that channels the island's Mediterranean Revival DNA — coral stucco, pale-pink limestone arches, carved cypress arbors — without tipping into pastiche. Flanking a pool terrace lined with blush umbrellas and travertine coping, the facade carries the feeling of a private Venetian palazzo that wandered south and decided to stay. London studio Muza Lab took the interiors in an equally distinctive direction, threading a sea green, sand, and coral palette through guestrooms averaging over 550 square feet — generous even by Palm Beach standards. The rooms deploy tall fluted headboards in terracotta velvet against diamond-latticed mirror screens, tropical-print rugs underfoot, and ceramic lamps in stacked jade green that gesture toward 1970s studio pottery. The dining room shifts register entirely: curved teal leather banquettes wrap pedestal tables beneath a ceiling of warm-toned timber slats and industrial-inflected box fixtures, while a Moorish-patterned tile wall anchors the bar end. The cocktail bar beyond goes fully theatrical, with antique mirrored barrel vaults and a cascading pink Murano-glass chandelier that manages to feel earned rather than extravagant.

"Went to the Palm House for a YPO retreat w approximately 200-250 people. Driving in by car we were met by friendly valet and baggage people. The hotel felt very charming when we walked inside. Hotel was booked months before so expected craziness. Courtney at the front desk surprised us by saying she could get us into a room and walked us to it where I was even more surprised to find our bags. The meeting space (ballroom) was filled w approx 25 tables of 10, and we sat there very comfortably for 6 hrs. Afterwards we had breakout meeting rooms and space for items brought our group - plunge pool and saunas. Pool was enchanting. Bar and dining were charming w impeccable service. The meeting space was transformed into a great party room for dancing and wonderful bar. Next day our seminar ran late and they graciously extended our checkout. Our stay was exceptional and I would give it 5 stars for all categories."

"My wife and I recently spent three nights at the Palm House, and it was fabulous. This boutique property is beautiful! And the location is perfect - right next to the beach and easily walkable to many shops and restaurants. The mediterranean architecture is stunningly attractive and sets the tone for the hotel. The lobby is warm and welcoming and the design and decor are amazing. Do take time to look around and take it all in. Our room was quite spacious and very well appointed with a balcony overlooking some lovely landscaping. The focal point for us was the patio and pool area. We had dinner and breakfast at the restaurant sitting on the patio, and it is so peaceful and relaxing. And the food was fantastic! We really enjoyed spending time on the patio and lounging by the beautiful pool. But far and away the best part of our stay was the service. Every team member was so pleasant and bent over backwards to enhance our experience. We traveled with our Toy Poodle, and she was treated like a VIP. The service really made the trip memorable. We have traveled extensively, and this may be our favorite hotel ever. We cannot wait to go back!"

"What a fantastic gem!! I'm so glad we stayed here. The staff is absolutely amazing, so helpful and they really go out of their way. Very clean!! Signature king room was spacious and well appointed. Pool is on the smaller side, but very quiet and relaxing. Walk to the beach in 3 mins. Walk to Worth in 10. This has everything you need. We will absolutely stay here again. Thanks to the staff for being so accomodating."

"I visited Palm house Friday evening with friends and family. We had a wonderful time. We had dinner and drinks, and the food was exceptional. The ambience of the hotel was delightful. Our server Jenevieve was so professional and attentive. She presented the menu items with full description and helped us with the choices. This was the first time we had come to Palm house and we will be back again for sure. Thank you for everything. Wonderful service excellent food and cocktails!!"

"We had a wonderful experience at Palm House, the staff were incredible - special thanks to Rafael, Destiny, and Tugay. Everyone from the front desk to valet and housekeeping team made our trip special. The room was beautiful, so was the pool. A few notes - not enough seating by the pool, you will need to get a spot early and stay put. Our kids are adventurous eaters but I would say a kids menu would be helpful for other families. The hotel was lively but not crowded, elegant but not snobby. We are looking forward to going back next year."
