Tucked behind a white canopied porte-cochère draped in birds-of-paradise and traveler's palms, the 1926 Spanish Colonial Revival building that houses The Brazilian Court Hotel has always felt more like a private Palm Beach estate than a hotel — which was, in a sense, the point. Designed by architect Gustav Maass and built during the Florida land boom that made Addison Mizner's Mediterranean Revival vocabulary the dominant grammar of the island, the two-story courtyard compound on Australian Avenue has long attracted a clientele that prefers discretion to scale. Its ochre stucco facades, dark mahogany balconies, and terracotta roof tiles remain essentially as Maass conceived them, the low-rise massing arranged around a central pool court shaded by royal palms. Inside, the property has evolved through successive renovations while retaining a consistent tropical residential warmth. Earlier guest rooms carried dark mahogany beds with draped canopy headers, butter-yellow walls, and louvered plantation shutters filtering garden light — a Floridian planter's vernacular that felt genuinely inhabited rather than assembled. More recent updates have introduced forest-green velvet bed frames, brass-framed botanical wallcoverings, and a deliberate injection of vintage photography — a Terry O'Neill print of Brigitte Bardot anchors one guestroom wall — alongside the same dark-beamed ceilings and wide-plank hardwood floors. The restaurant, where coffered ceilings inlaid with crushed shell or pebble mosaic warm the room in amber, looks directly onto the garden through steel-framed windows, keeping the whole property in constant conversation with its extraordinary grounds.

"You know in a hotel room that at least I’m staying I expect a room that charges over $1100 a night would have a working TV working plumbing and AC that doesn’t reach up to the 70s of course and I expect that the food we get is not just a of bimbo bread with rolled up turkey and lettuce as a club sandwich and a burger that isn’t just Wasabi and a patty I couldn’t be more disappointed in this stay at least in one star hotels I’ve been to have either a TV that works in a toilet that doesn’t get clogged when you use the bathroom because of the toilets have not been updated since 90 years ago."

"Sandra was great upon arrival and we checked into our room patio level with ease it was a great location for us Jonas by the pool took care of us and made our pool day super enjoyable Everyone is eager to help & assist with any of your needs riding bikes was so much fun around the island!"

"We have stayed at another prestigious hotel in the West Palm area in the past, but decided to give the Brazilian court hotel a try. What a hidden gem. The location is in a quiet residential area, but very close to Worth Avenue and the beach. We loved the fact that we were provided free transportation to and from the beach. Beach chairs, an umbrella and cold water was provided for us. The pool at the hotel was in excellent condition. The calm background music led to a very relaxed time at the pool. The whole hotel and the immaculately kept gardens and palm trees give the hotel a very relaxing vibe. The room was spotless, and the bed very comfortable. The Cafe Boulud lived up to its great reputation, and we ate several meals there. All the staff, were friendly, helpful and always smiling- truly 5 star service. Special shoutout to Zhanna at the front desk-very friendly and helpful. Going forward, this hotel will probably be our "go to" hotel in West Palm for our mini vacations, as we live in Broward county."

"The Brazilian Court is the best place to stay in Palm Beach. The hotel accommodations are superb, the breakfast and dining were great, and the cherry on top was the complimentary 2-hour boat ride with Magic Mike! Our service dog Frosty even enjoyed the beautiful scenery. So much better than The Breakers!!"
