PB hotel design editorial

Conceived as the centerpiece of MGM Resorts' $8.5 billion CityCenter development — the largest privately financed construction project in American history when it completed in 2009 — the twin curved towers designed by Pelli Clarke Pelli Architects brought a genuinely urban ambition to the Las Vegas Strip. Aria Resort & Casino rises across 61 floors, its floor-to-ceiling glass curtain wall catching the desert light differently at every hour, the convex facades generating a sense of continuous movement that most Strip properties, locked into static monumentalism, never attempt. The Sky Suites component sits at the tower's upper reaches, separated from the main hotel as its own access-controlled enclave. The interiors visible in the suite images reflect a recent refresh — grey upholstered headboards with scalloped profiles, clean white lacquer case goods, tonal linen drapery, and a palette of warm greige and charcoal that keeps the floor-to-ceiling Strip panorama as the dominant visual event in every room. Suite living areas introduce walnut-toned divider columns, low-slung lounge chairs in cream bouclé, and cobalt area rugs that anchor the space without competing with the view. The restaurant image — Gothic barrel vaults, a sculptural iron tree displaying spirits bottles, deeply carved wooden relief panels — points to Bárbara, the hotel's Mexican dining venue, where the architecture operates at a completely different register from the rooms above, theatrical and grotto-like against the tower's cool restraint.

"We are regular visitors to LV and over the last 30+ years have stayed at many hotels both on the Boulevard and also in Henderson and Summerlin. This was our first stay at the Aria Sky Suites and part of our anniversary trip in April 26. On arrival we got off to the very best start with a fantastic warm welcome from Joel who checked us in and made sure we had everything we needed, including a lovely anniversary surprise, thank you Joel ! The suite was luxurious, comfortable and a real treat. There's a guest lounge area which offers coffee, drinks and snacks and are included for Sky Suite guests, situated near the suite check-in. I can't speak to all the amenities on offer as we didn't use them on this visit but maybe next time? All staff members we encountered in both the hotel and the Sky Suites pool were helpful and housekeeping was spotless...it makes it an easy decision to return asap."

"I love to stay at the Aria, it is one of my go to places in Las Vegas. I am sad to say the air quality has gone down so expect smoke and a funky smell mixed into the air. We decided as a group of girls to go to the spa and , yep you all know what I am going to say their was two people on their phones in the private girls only spa. I spoke with management and nothing was done. So you might get recorded so be dressed and alert- no relaxation. The treatment was great but no time to enjoy the other amenities because my head was on swivel to see if we were being recorded! I would go back to lemongrass in a heartbeat. Skip Carbone, worst place I have eaten, service is good but over priced and believe me, I’m a foodie, the food at Olive Garden is better and 1/3 of the price."

"Our family of 4 had an excellent stay at Aria. We initially booked a one bedroom penthouse suite but was upgraded to a 2 bedroom with a view of the strip. The room was beautiful, modern and luxurious. Front desk staff were all phenomenal from check in to check out. Aria also has the friendliest casino staff especially at the black jack tables. The pit boss during the day was so nice and accommodating. We are looking forward to our next stay."

"ARIA Sky Suites have nice rooms and amenities. Stayed on floor 52, smoking suite as requested. Housekeeping is excellent. Room was made up quickly each morning and turn down service at night. I do enjoy the Sky Suites lounge opening early at 6am for a delicious cup of coffee. Small pastries available throughout the day. Afternoons have cheese trays and sweets. This is about our tenth time staying in the Sky Suites. We used to always stay at The Bellagio, but is always so busy being the center of the strip. ARIA is more of our speed, with a visit to Bellagio’s conservatory."
