PB hotel design editorial

When Jacques Garcia designed the original NoMad Hotel in a landmarked 1903 Beaux-Arts building on Broadway, few would have predicted that the concept's most fully realized iteration would emerge inside a Las Vegas casino tower. NoMad Las Vegas, which opened in 2018 within the upper floors of Park MGM, gave Garcia the rare opportunity to distill his signature language — dark lacquered wood, crimson leather, layered Orientalist references, freestanding soaking tubs placed theatrically within open-plan suites — without the constraints of a historic envelope. The restaurant, visible in the images, is perhaps the purest expression of this: floor-to-ceiling bookshelves glowing amber behind tufted burgundy banquettes, the bar backlit through glass, the whole room carrying the atmosphere of a Parisian private club that has somehow absorbed a gentlemen's library. The 293 rooms and suites sit between the 26th and 36th floors of the tower, the aerial views from that height placing the property in direct conversation with the Strip's relentless vertical accumulation. Guest rooms ground themselves against that spectacle through wide-plank oak floors, Persian-style rugs in rose and blue, dark leather headboards, and lacquered folding screens upholstered in crimson damask — surfaces chosen to absorb light rather than amplify it. The pool deck, by contrast, pivots entirely: mint-painted cabanas with striped canvas umbrellas and white resin furniture suggest a mid-century California resort, a tonal counterpoint to Garcia's nocturnal interiors above.

"How was the awaken at 3 AM to a very loud banging until 4 o’clock in which I determined it was waterhammer in the pipes. We had a suite , you could literally hear it in every end of the hotel, it was so loud it kept me up until I made ear plugs out of toilet paper just to fade the noise enough to sleep. Unbelievable"

"Excellent experience. The room was clean and comfortable with plenty of living space, although storage space was limited. Good air conditioning. Housekeeping was prompt, timely and thorough. Views of the mountains and the southern part of the strip. The Reserve is separate from the Park MGM, so it was quiet and well appointed, with a separate check in. We attended events at T-Mobile arena which was a short walk. Non smoking hotel and casino a definite plus and relatively rare in Vegas. Restaurants were all great- Primrose for breakfast, Bavette's for dinner and/or drinks, Juniper for cocktails, Eataly for a variety of Italian food, even a Starbucks. The staff was friendly, helpful, and customer-foucsed. A couple of problems on check in with room keys were quickly resolved and appropriate compensation provided. It is not inexpensive but provides good value. We will be back."

"This was my first visit to this hotel since it was rebranded due to the sale of the NoMad brand to Hilton. Honestly, the only thing that changed was the signage. I had hoped they would "brighten up" the top floors of Park MGM, both in the hallways and in the guest rooms. It's exceptionally dark, even with all the room lights on. The electronic check-in seemed to work fine, and my phone allowed me to select the correct floor on the elevator. However, when I got to the room, the door would not unlock with my phone. I had to visit the front desk for a physical key. They re-sent the electronic key to my phone, but it still didn't work. A minor annoyance, though. I love the "Central South Strip" location, which is very convenient to a lot of retail experiences. It was also fun to see "Bruno Mars Day" celebrated, where they honored the singer with a parade, renamed Park Ave. to Bruno Mars Blvd., and of course, listened to some of the performer's repertoire. I absolutely love the fact that they completely ban smoking in the casino as well as the hotel. I'm surprised none of the other casinos have gone smoke-free yet. MGM Rewards made my trip possible - the room was comped, and I was given substantial resort credit as well. I think I wound up spending only $80 in gratuities during a four-night visit. Thanks, MGM!"

"This is an interesting hotel. It is nice to have a small boutique setup within a larger hotel becuase it makes check-in quicker and service easier. We had good service and the rooms were comfortable. The gym was fine - not as nice as the really high-end casinos, but good enough for sure. The Park MGM casino is fine and has some good food. Rideshare, taxis, the lobby, the gym, coffee, etc. are all very convenient and close, which is really great compared to other casinos. The only thing that was not ideal was that the room and bathroom was smaller than it is at some of the other nice casinos."

"Wonderful amenities, kind of an older school luxury decor and furnishings, great artwork. Quiet, comfortable and an unexpected luxury. A couple of small problems, like no switch to turn on one of wall lamps (the knob was unscrewed and no way to turn the remaining screw that holds the knob due to the older styling of the knob). Very nice to have a very good coffee maker in the room, something that has dwindled away during and past COVID in higher end hotels. I know, everyone can travel to the lobby (or wait for room service), walk about a mile in these larger properties, and wait in line for Starbucks, but we like to start our day off with coffee in the room before journeying around a lot. We enjoy the location/rooms of the regular Park MGM, but now that the Reserve Park MGM (formally Nomad) is part of the Marriott/MGM array it was a very pleasant and relaxing surprise for us. Loved the in-room coffee."
