PB hotel design editorial

When Jacques Garcia designed the original NoMad Hotel in a landmarked 1903 Beaux-Arts building on Broadway, few would have predicted that the concept's most fully realized iteration would emerge inside a Las Vegas casino tower. NoMad Las Vegas, which opened in 2018 within the upper floors of Park MGM, gave Garcia the rare opportunity to distill his signature language — dark lacquered wood, crimson leather, layered Orientalist references, freestanding soaking tubs placed theatrically within open-plan suites — without the constraints of a historic envelope. The restaurant, visible in the images, is perhaps the purest expression of this: floor-to-ceiling bookshelves glowing amber behind tufted burgundy banquettes, the bar backlit through glass, the whole room carrying the atmosphere of a Parisian private club that has somehow absorbed a gentlemen's library. The 293 rooms and suites sit between the 26th and 36th floors of the tower, the aerial views from that height placing the property in direct conversation with the Strip's relentless vertical accumulation. Guest rooms ground themselves against that spectacle through wide-plank oak floors, Persian-style rugs in rose and blue, dark leather headboards, and lacquered folding screens upholstered in crimson damask — surfaces chosen to absorb light rather than amplify it. The pool deck, by contrast, pivots entirely: mint-painted cabanas with striped canvas umbrellas and white resin furniture suggest a mid-century California resort, a tonal counterpoint to Garcia's nocturnal interiors above.

"Always nice to visit Vegas and not be overwhelmed by all the people. The Reserve at P ark MGM is the perfect spot to stay and still have access to all Vegas has to offer without the crowd. It's a hotel within a hotel so you have your own entrance, elevators and that makes a huge difference. The staff, decor, and vibe is top notch and the service is outstanding. All you need is at Park MGM, but the tram will take you all the way to Bellagio and hotels in between. If you want to stay somewhere cool without the crowds of a big hotel, this is the spot."

"This hotel is very awkwardly set up. There are difficulties and trying to find areas in the hotel. It is set up almost like an octopus. The staff at the front desk is very nice particularly the ones that work at night time we had significant issues with our airline, losing our luggage. However, at registration, no one gave us a map showing us where the restaurants are where the Uber pick up area is as that is a thing here in Las Vegas. The rooms are large and comfortable. The rooms are also clean. I read somewhere that this portion of the hotel was renovated. I would argue that that information is at least 25 years old. The TV is not a smart TV which I have not come across in several years. The bathroom amenities were plentiful, but not very good. But the biggest issue that I came across was how dark the hallways the lobby of the registration area and most of the room. I think you can have atmosphere dimly lit, but with enough light that you don’t have to worry about bumping into a wall in the middle of the day. The attached pictures will show how dark it was at 9 AM. The towels in the bathroom were actually soft, which I appreciate. Overall, a good stay just dated dark and it needs to have a little bit more communication so that the guest can truly enjoy all of the options at the hotel. There may be a spa at the hotel. I’m guessing because I saw that there was a stop on the elevator that said spa. It was kind of nice that the casino area did not reek of cigarettes. In fact it smelled normal."

"Absolutely love this hotel. Will stay here in the future. The entire hotel and casino were smoke free. Everyone we came in contact with was amazing and they even allow you to bring your dog. Best hotel in Vegas!!"

"I arrived around noon and was informed that my room was not ready. I was told I had been upgraded to a suite and would receive a text once it became available. I paid the security deposit at that time. After receiving the message later in the day, I followed the instructions to self check-in, as the front desk line was very long with insufficient staff. However, the room key did not work, and I had to go up and down multiple times to resolve the issue. Eventually, I was told that I was “not fully checked in” because my deposit was supposedly unsuccessful—despite having already paid it earlier in the day. After being issued a new working key, I was then informed at the front desk that my room had been double-checked in to another guest, and I was required to move my belongings. At that point, it was already midnight. I was told there were no suites available and that I could only be accommodated in a non-suite room facing the street, which was a clear downgrade from what was promised. Throughout this process, I repeatedly had to go back and forth and wait for staff to address issues that were entirely not my fault. And the staff were not friendly or helpful. This experience caused significant inconvenience and disruption late at night."
