PB hotel design editorial

Two curved towers sheathed in bronze-tinted glass rise from a landscape of waterfalls, mature pines, and flowering bougainvillea on the northern end of the Las Vegas Strip — a deliberate inversion of everything the Strip had represented before Steve Wynn commissioned architect DeRuyter Butler to design what became Wynn Las Vegas in 2005. The $2.7 billion property, followed by its companion tower Encore in 2008, together delivering over 4,700 rooms across 45 and 48 floors respectively, set a new register for the American casino resort by orienting the building away from the street rather than toward it, wrapping the exterior in curated gardens that feel closer to a Kyoto inn than a Nevada gaming floor. The interiors, largely directed by Roger Thomas of Wynn Design and Development, move between registers with considerable range. Guest rooms in the original tower pair crimson accent walls and gilded mirror frames with cream upholstery and floor-to-ceiling Strip views; rooms facing the golf course side run warmer, with honey-toned wood paneling, bas-relief wall art, and sienna-and-sand textiles that echo the desert mountains beyond. The pool terraces deploy striped canvas cabanas in turquoise and amber, their mediterranean formality landing somewhere between Riviera beach club and English garden party. Most recently, the Overlook Lounge has been transformed into a theatrical space of gilded bronze palm-tree light fixtures, swirling Art Deco carpets, and a lacquered concert grand — glamour calibrated to feel earned rather than performed.

"The Wynn Las Vegas is beautiful. The flower decoration, the waterfalls, and the mall are beautiful."

"BEWARE! Broken glass!!! Bathroom floor in my room I want everyone to see that this is what was on the bathroom floor and all over my room at The Wynn Las Vegas on 5/12/26. I called and they do didn’t offer to change my room. I Called again and they say they “serviced the room.” These are their standards. Unsafe conditions. Not properly cleaned. BEWARE! They are cheap and won’t refund one night."

"Wynn Las Vegas, located at 3131 Las Vegas Blvd S on the northern Strip, is a top tier luxury resort celebrated for its Five‑Star service, lush floral design, and art‑driven elegance, making it a favorite for upscale stays, fine dining, and entertainment. As the world’s largest Five‑Star resort, it offers sunlit atriums, high end shopping, pristine heated pools, and the exclusive 18 hole Wynn Golf Club, rhee only golf course directly on the Strip. Guests enjoy a state‑of‑the‑art “mega gym,” beautifully landscaped outdoor areas, and a prime location steps from The Sphere, Encore, and nearby resorts like The Venetian and Resorts World. Its close proximity about a 10‑minute walk to the Las Vegas Convention Center also makes it a popular and convenient choice for business travelers."

"Stayed in the Tower Suites. Attractive furnishings and good sized room. Not a suite in any modern sense of the word. Extraordinarily quiet though if you are facing the golf course side, not the strip side which is noisy. There really isn’t any sense of elegance or grace to the current set up. Reception is shoved to the back while upgrades are made to the older area. The lobby area is essentially a bar that you either skirt around or go through to the elevators. The clientele has slipped a lot too. While checking in one of my family members an extraordinarily hostile guest came roaring in about some invasion of privacy by staff. He seemed drunk and I’d have to say the manager on the scene handled the situation well. Helped to have three security guards there immediately too. But again, not something you see in other cities (not blaming the Wynn for it, just the client). Room service was speedy and accurate but the food pretty bland and uninviting. Small shower in oversized bathroom. Good gym. My knock on the place is that’s it’s a casino and not a suite of any sort. The first is what it is. The second is on them."

"I stayed at Wynn Tower Suites at the beginning of April 26. This is simply one of the most gorgeous, 5-star hotel experiences I have experienced in my life and I have stayed at some excellent hotels. Very attentive service, you do not have to wait on line at any of the breakfast restaurants -- you are given priority, a gorgeous Wynn room and best of all - probably the best view of The Sphere available."
