PB hotel design editorial

Two curved towers sheathed in bronze-tinted glass rise from a landscape of waterfalls, mature pines, and flowering bougainvillea on the northern end of the Las Vegas Strip — a deliberate inversion of everything the Strip had represented before Steve Wynn commissioned architect DeRuyter Butler to design what became Wynn Las Vegas in 2005. The $2.7 billion property, followed by its companion tower Encore in 2008, together delivering over 4,700 rooms across 45 and 48 floors respectively, set a new register for the American casino resort by orienting the building away from the street rather than toward it, wrapping the exterior in curated gardens that feel closer to a Kyoto inn than a Nevada gaming floor. The interiors, largely directed by Roger Thomas of Wynn Design and Development, move between registers with considerable range. Guest rooms in the original tower pair crimson accent walls and gilded mirror frames with cream upholstery and floor-to-ceiling Strip views; rooms facing the golf course side run warmer, with honey-toned wood paneling, bas-relief wall art, and sienna-and-sand textiles that echo the desert mountains beyond. The pool terraces deploy striped canvas cabanas in turquoise and amber, their mediterranean formality landing somewhere between Riviera beach club and English garden party. Most recently, the Overlook Lounge has been transformed into a theatrical space of gilded bronze palm-tree light fixtures, swirling Art Deco carpets, and a lacquered concert grand — glamour calibrated to feel earned rather than performed.

"I have had a lovely expierence at Wynn Las Vegas with my family We were 6 adults in 3 different rooms we all check in different days however I did request if they could accomodate all the family in the same floor which they did Mr Harrison in front desk was amazing, nothing was too much trouble for him and he sorted out straight away for us The buffet was AMAZING I did stayed from 22nd July till 27th July having the food from the buffet every day and never had any issues all food was delicious and one of the best buffets I ever had in Vegas, so many choices!!! I have stayed in Vegas previously but by far this is the best Hotel Staff .- in my opinion is exceptional, for the amount of people they manage we were impressed they keep all installations so tidy and clean. Buffet.- AMAZING!!! So many choices and even there's always a queue of people waiting to be seating, they never over fill the spaces so you can always have your breakfast in a good encironment Rooms.- The rooms are great they are clean and well mainted, the beds are so comfortable I can not recomment enough this hotel, is very comfortable and I loved my stayed"

"Perfect Location at the strip, next to the Fashion Mall. The atmosphere is really nice. Our Family Room was quite big with an amazing view. Hugh Value for the money we paid. The cleanliness is also top!"

"I had a horrible food poisoning incident just yesterday July 24th 2026 while eating at the buffet at the Wynn and I was a hotel guest at the Wynn. The front desk staff would not help me at all. I wasn’t provided any medical services or accommodations from eating their poor quality and poor food preparation at their buffet on site. I only was allowed to make a report with the security after waiting hours and jumping through hoops to talk to someone. I wasn’t allowed a copy or record of my incident either. Very bad customer service at this hotel and very poor sanitary measures taken here. I would stay far away from this place and never eat at their restaurants!"

"We heard that vegas is dying but didn’t want to believe it. Sadly this visit to wynn confirmed it. If this is the best of vegas, don’t bother. Go elsewhere. Upon arrival a surly Carlos was about as unwelcoming as he could be. The rooms and house keeping are 10/10. Really clean and maintained well. The hotel was let down by service staff. The pool we were offered a bed with an umbrella for $50 at sunset time. And generally made to feel unwelcome unless we were willing to pay / tip."
