"We are currently stating at MYC and my advice to anyone looking to book this hotel is read the negative reviews. This hotel doesn’t match up to the positive reviews online. It’s a yacht club and the hotel comes as a 2nd and it shows. Reasons below - the rooms are so noisy! All rooms have interconnecting doors so the strangers in the next room might as well be sharing with you, creaky stairs throughout the building, rooms on the lower floor can hear every step from the room above, no sound proofing at all, hearing dogs yapping in rooms on the opposite side of the building. - The rooms are fusty and smell damp. - A double room has 1 chair so where is the other person to sit? Attention to details is poor. - The bathrooms are so badly ventilated that the clothes you hang on the hanging rail get damp from the shower steam. - what you can’t see from the online photos is how many boats are at the marina and all the boat owners have use of the hotel facilities, restaurant and pool as well as the hotel guests which is too many people. The hotel isn’t big enough for this and there aren’t nearly enough places to relax and enjoy the sun. There are approximately 30 sun loungers around the adults pool and once these are taken there is no where else to go. - Our 1st and only evening meal in the restaurants was chaotic. The hotel is staffed by lots of kids on college break and though they are friendly the inexperience shows. It’s also extortionate in price. - When we arrived I asked to change room due to the noise level from the room next door. It wasn’t that they were unusually noisy but it was lack of insulation. The reception guy said all rooms are the same and there wasn’t as option to change other than pay even more. Our room was $1500 per night - that is extortionate for the quality of the room so no way would we have paid more to be in a different room and still be told it would have the same issues and an interconnecting door. - The hotel feels like a motel that’s had an addition of a nicely decorated reception and restaurant but the rooms don’t match the same level. - Pool loungers are stained and very dirty. - Restaurant food is mediocre but ridiculously expensive. Example - the lunchtime fish tacos = 2 tiny tacos with a very small, poor quality piece of fish. Not worth $32!!! - be warned when you check out you will be charged $100 per day water club fee - this is an additional charge to use the pool, tennis court, coffee machine and WiFi. Unbelievable on a supposed 5 star property. This whole hotel experience hasn’t wowed us on any level. It is a joke to charge the extras and expect people to return. Only positive is the concierge lady who books the sightseeing experiences and bike hire ,she is so knowledgeable of the area and the best things to do. Totally underwhelming experience and we would never return."

"MYC is one of the nicer properties in Montauk. The grounds are very well maintained, the rooms are modern and spacious, the pools are clean and properly staffed, the beach is perfect for children, the service is outstanding and the food choices are excellent. MYC is in a quiet location but only a short hop to the harbor area and a quick drive to everything else."
