PB hotel design editorial

Planted at the edge of Dallas's Arts District where Flora Street meets the city's cultural corridor, the building that houses HALL Arts Hotel was conceived as a physical extension of the arts campus that Craig and Kathryn Hall have assembled over decades — a privately funded collection numbering more than 3,000 works that spills from outdoor plazas into every corridor and guest room. Designed by architect HKS and opened in 2019, the eleven-story structure presents a facade of vertically striated aluminum panels lit from within at dusk, the warm glow giving the building the quality of a lantern among the glass towers pressing in on either side. A yellow Mark di Suvero sculpture in the foreground underscores the property's relationship to the broader Arts District streetscape. Inside, the 183 rooms carry that commitment without theatrical effort — large-format photographic prints and original works hang above upholstered platform beds and pale timber millwork, the palette held to cream, warm grey, and bleached oak so the art claims the walls rather than competing with the furniture. The restaurant space deploys the same restraint: a linen-toned room with wire-drawn pendant clusters overhead and a monumental expressionist landscape painting commanding the length of one wall. On the mid-level pool terrace, white resin loungers sit among planted sage and salvia beds edged by teak decking — a considered green interruption in a neighborhood that otherwise gives every square foot to concrete and glass.

"This has been the most outstanding stay I have experienced at this hotel. OZ and Ava both went above and beyond by personally ensuring my wife’s comfort, arranging a special birthday surprise, and attending to every detail to make her milestone celebration truly memorable. Thank you both!"

"I loved the HALL Arts Hotel so much that I did a full video review reel on my social media pages. The location is really nice as the property is located in the center of the city's vibrant arts district. My room had an elegant meets comfortable vibe with eclectic art decor that's also seen throughout the entire hotel. I especially enjoyed the complimentary wine tasting at the front desk with the tasty Hall wine and the Don't Tell My Trainer menu dish was fun and tasty. The room service delivered with a scrumptious avocado toast and I enjoyed a delicious eggs Benedict the next morning in the lovely hotel restaurant that also had a relaxing jazz band playing that started at 11am on a casual Sunday. I enjoyed that as well. The HALL team from the welcoming front desk crew to the attentive waiters and friendly bartenders all made my stay extra enjoyable. I also enjoyed the rooftop pool and nicely appointed gym. I plan to stay at this Dallas property again!"

"What a Gem in the Heart of Dallas! We had the most Amazing experience and the hotel was so beautiful, clean, great location, beautiful aesthetic…. Truly cannot say enough about it! The staff was even more attentive and impressive, Marissa especially accommodated us in every way! We had a late night check in after a long travel and Marissa made sure we got chicken tenders that my daughter requested even when they weren’t a menu option! First class, 5 star experience top to bottom! Highly recommend! Location perfect, walking distance to everything cool!"

"My stay at Hall Arts Dallas was nothing short of amazing! From the impeccable lobby to the warmth of the gentlemen at the door to the incredible reception at the front desk, I felt welcomed immediately upon entry. The staff is overall amazing. Ava was the stand out and I am so thankful for her courtesy and truly genuine welcome to the property. Stacy also ensured that I had everything I needed throughout my stay. I felt right at home right away. I upgraded to the Masterpiece Suite and I must tell you, it is truly a treat, if you can indulge! All of their accommodations are spotless, modern and top tier. You can't go wrong with whatever you choose. The gym on the second floor is large for a hotel gym. I was impressed with the condition, the size, and the availability of equipment. I also love the art that adorns the hotel walls. Truly a lot of detail in the selection of their decor. I also had an opportunity to try the restaurant onsite Astra, which was very tasty. I recommend the smashburger with the Parmesan fries and also their specialty salad. John was our server and he was amazing! Don't forget to check out the rooftop pool, which is very intimate, clean and truly serves the purpose of taking in the view of the city while taking a plunge. There is also a courtesy car on site if you need accessibility to nearby places within a mile. Greg was absolutely incredible as my driver and advised of the best locations nearby. Time was extremely helpful in recommending some hot spots to check out as well . Hall Arts Hotel Dallas will definitely be my go-to when I'm in the area. Highly recommended with expectations. Exceeded beyond measure!"
