PB hotel design editorial

Uptown Dallas's McKinney Avenue corridor has long been the city's most self-consciously urbane address, and it was here, in 2007, that The Ritz-Carlton Dallas was established within a limestone-clad tower designed to hold its own against the surrounding glass curtain walls of corporate Dallas. The building's massing — a lower podium of neoclassical stonework stepping up into a 26-story residential-scale tower with pronounced setbacks and balconied upper floors — draws more from European grand hotel tradition than from the Sunbelt high-rise vernacular, a deliberate signal of civic ambition. The pool terrace, set at podium level and framed by white-painted pergolas, sits surrounded by reflective glass neighbors, blue market umbrellas and teak loungers giving it the atmosphere of a private club rather than a rooftop amenity. Inside, the 218 rooms and suites work through a palette of warm champagne, taupe, and layered blues — leather-tufted headboards, damask bed runners, and wing chairs upholstered in blush linen establishing a tone of restrained American classicism. Suite-level rooms push further into a kind of Deco-inflected glamour: deep sapphire carpets with abstract watercolor patterns, gold geometric folding screens, and tufted velvet headboards in near-black navy. The bar is the most theatrically resolved space in the building — dark walnut paneling, a burl-wood backlit counter, navy leather bar chairs, and an antler-form sculptural chandelier in gilded brass lending the room a mood somewhere between private library and Texas hunting lodge reinterpreted for a fashion-conscious clientele.

"I had a small group meeting. Service was great, So much so we are planning on booking a large group in the summer of 27, 500 room night. Service was excellent, food was over the top. One small issue with the elevators, Staff went above and beyond to handle it. More than anyone could ask for!!"

"The Ritz-Carlton, Dallas delivers exactly what you expect from the brand—polished, professional, and genuinely warm service from start to finish. A special shout-out to Robert Case in Concierge, who truly elevated our stay with his knowledge, attention to detail, and willingness to go above and beyond. Every interaction reinforced that excellence is the standard here, not the exception. I would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend this property for anyone who values top-tier hospitality"

"This is a true Ritz Carlton. We left a Ritz in Turks and Caicos to be stopped in Dallas with no luggage due to weather. We immediately booked the Club Lounge suite at the Ritz Dallas in 19 degree weather. We walked in to this stunning Art Deco hotel to the most loving and hospitable staff we’ve encountered. Davide Paduano and Sarah Lansford made this stay so special…It’s difficult to describe the warmth and hospitality they shared with us. We were sent up complimentary warm herbal tea after our arrival. The room service was delicious. The club lounge is absolutely beyond fantastic. The hotel sent us up all the amenities we needed for a comfortable stay (without even asking us). This is what the Ritz Carlton is known for. We’ve even planned to return with our family in April. Thank you everyone for rescuing us in the night and making us feel safe and loved again. We will never forget you!"

"While my stay had a few hiccups, it was the recovery that really made this stay shine. The hotel’s management took care of all issues immediately. Housekeeping was the team that really shined. The housekeeping team made me feel true “Ritz Magic”, which was the first time I felt that I had personalized service at any hotel in a very long time. I try to be a relatively low maintenance hotel guest and frequently don’t look like a flashy, big-spender type, so at a lot of hotels I tend to be overlooked and often ignored. Not here. The housecleaning team saw that I had a book and left me a bookmark. They saw I had sunglasses and left me a cleaning wipe. There were other “extras” thrown in (which were not at all expected but genuinely appreciated). It reminded me of what separates a true luxury hotel. Ryan, the head bartender, remembered me from my stay a month ago. He is the best bartender in the state of Texas. The hotel is starting to show some age, but the rooms are spacious, comfortable, contain the full litany of Ritz toiletries and extras, and are very clean. This was my first time having a club room. While my room wasn’t on the club level (so can’t comment on whether there are any differences between those and standard rooms), I had access to the club itself. The club is nice enough but not extravagant—mostly sandwiches and salads for lunch. I skipped breakfast and happy hour so not sure what that was like. The liquor and wine selection at the dessert hour is quite decent. The club concierges were all very personably and friendly, and very welcoming."
