PB hotel design editorial

At the foot of Deer Valley's runs, where the ski-in ski-out fantasy meets the realities of a dense mountain village, a contemporary structure clad in weathered board-form concrete and dark-framed glazing makes a quietly urbane case for itself among Park City's chalet vernacular. The Goldener Hirsch Auberge Resorts Collection — named for the legendary Salzburg original that has hosted alpine travelers since 1407 — arrived in its current form as a reimagined version of the beloved Austrian-themed inn that long anchored Silver Lake Village, exchanging the original's dirndl-and-edelweiss sensibility for something more considered and contemporary. Interiors designed by Pierre-Yves Rochon carry that translation thoughtfully: guest rooms layer wheat-linen headboards against wall murals mapping mountain topography in fine line, while a second room type works botanical wallpapers depicting deer and forest fauna in dusty rose and sage against tufted blush panels — a softer, more residential register. The lobby lounge anchors the social heart of the building with a stone fireplace flanked by brass latticework screens, a plaid wool carpet grounding cream barrel chairs and marble-topped cocktail tables, and a gallery of black-and-white wildlife photography framing the chimney breast. Above it all, the rooftop pool sits exposed to the Wasatch ridgeline, steam rising against snow-covered slopes in winter and facing open green ski runs in summer — the one gesture that most honestly captures why people come here.

"--- We had an absolutely wonderful stay and were thoroughly impressed with the beautiful accommodations. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel genuinely welcomed—everyone was warm, friendly, and attentive throughout our visit. The rooms were spacious and thoughtfully designed, with plenty of counter space in the bathroom, making it easy for two people to get ready comfortably at the same time. Everything was impeccably clean, and we especially appreciated the nightly turndown service, which added a lovely touch to each evening. The rooftop pool is truly a highlight and not to be missed. The views are stunning, and the seating is both comfortable and inviting—perfect for relaxing. Our only suggestion would be to offer food and beverage service poolside, as it would enhance the experience to not have to leave in swimwear to grab refreshments. The location was ideal, and the shuttle service to nearby resorts and Main Street was incredibly convenient—always prompt and easy to use. We also highly recommend stopping by Kitz for coffee, pastries, and cookies—they were exceptional. We would absolutely stay here again and look forward to returning."

"Our stay at the All State in Park City was exceptional from start to finish. The hospitality and customer service were truly five-star. Every staff member was friendly, approachable, and always willing to help with a smile. The team consistently checked in to ensure we were comfortable and that all of our needs were being met, making us feel genuinely welcomed and cared for throughout our stay. A special thank you to Yvonne, who took wonderful care of us throughout our stay. Her attentiveness, warmth, and genuine desire to ensure we had a great experience made a lasting impression. We were also touched by the thoughtful anniversary surprise awaiting us, complete with delicious goodies that made our celebration even more special and memorable. We especially enjoyed starting our mornings with delicious lattes from Kids Café, thanks to Lio and Stephanie, whose warm service made the experience even better. Lio was kind, super friendly and customized our drinks that made our stay memorable. The resort offered wonderful guest experiences, including the cheese and chocolate tastings and wellness activities such as yoga and Pilates, which added a special touch to our visit. The complimentary shuttle service to Historic Main Street was incredibly convenient and made exploring Park City effortless. We would also like to recognize Maddie for her outstanding service. She graciously made the courtesy card available, helping make our son’s trip especially memorable. After we returned home, Maddie went above and beyond by helping locate our lost AirPods and coordinating their shipment back to us. Her responsiveness, kindness, and dedication to guest satisfaction were truly remarkable and exemplified the exceptional level of service provided by the resort. Overall, this was a fantastic stay, and we highly recommend the All State to anyone visiting Park City. We look forward to returning in the future."
