"I booked the Kimpton Taconic Hotel through the Chase Travel Edit Hotel Program, which requires prepaying the stay in exchange for guaranteed benefits, including a guaranteed 4:00 pm late checkout. The hotel refused to honor the guaranteed late checkout. At check‑in, I was handed a paper outlining my benefits that stated checkout was “upon availability,” which directly contradicts what is published on Chase Travel. Chase Travel clearly states “Guaranteed 4 pm late checkout” and does not mention availability at booking, at check‑in, or anywhere on the Chase Travel site. I had to call Chase Travel, and Chase then had to call the hotel directly to correct what felt like a bait‑and‑switch situation. It got worse after checkout. Despite having already prepaid through Chase, I was later hit with two additional charges for room and tax directly from the hotel. When I contacted the hotel, they claimed they had “not received any payment.” After calling Chase again, I was told the hotel failed to charge Chase’s virtual credit card within the required time window, and instead charged me again. Bottom line: Guaranteed Chase Travel Edit benefits were not honored The front desk was unaware of, or unwilling to recognize, a premium program booking I was double charged due to the hotel’s internal billing failure I am still having to call to get the double charge resolved This stay completely undermined the value of booking through Chase Travel Edit. Until Kimpton Taconic can properly handle prepaid third‑party bookings and consistently honor guaranteed benefits, I cannot recommend staying here—especially if you expect a premium, seamless experience."

"We absolutely loved every minute of our visit. From the moment we walked in, the front desk staff were incredibly helpful and welcoming, setting the perfect tone for our trip. The room was fantastic. The bed was incredibly comfortable, but the unexpected star of the room was the shower—it featured independent pressure and temperature controls, which was an amazing, luxurious touch! The hotel is also truly pet-friendly; having a high-quality Orvis dog bed already waiting in the room for our dog was so appreciated. We dined at the on-site restaurant, The Copper Grouse, and it was exceptional. They were wonderfully accommodating regarding our food allergies, offering many great salad options packed with fresh ingredients, and every single dish was beautifully plated. I loved the thoughtful integration of local Vermont brands for the products used throughout the hotel. The property itself is gorgeous, from the stunning mountain views to the beautiful lobby areas filled with comfortable seating that invite you to just sit and relax. Finally, the location is absolutely ideal. It’s tucked away enough to feel relaxing, but it is not far at all from the downtown area, making it perfectly situated to explore local gems like the excellent Northshire Bookstore. If you are looking for a beautiful, welcoming, and relaxing stay in Manchester, we cannot recommend the Kimpton Taconic enough. It was an amazing experience from start to finish!"

"The Kimpton Taconic continues to be our favorite New England escape from the city. This recent stay was another perfect example of why we keep coming back, and it really starts at the top. Nick, the GM, sets a tone of excellence that you feel across the entire property. We were so grateful for a generous room upgrade to one of the recently renovated cottage suites. The refresh was overseen by Mike, the facilities supervisor, and his hardworking team, and they did a great job. The room was pristine and everything sparkled. We appreciate that Mike always remembers our names and greets us warmly every time we return. The hospitality was seamless from the moment we pulled up. Jaydoura gave us a wonderful welcome and personally made sure all our requests were fulfilled. We also have to give a shout-out to Kristin, our breakfast server, who is always so friendly and attentive. Speaking of breakfast, the Copper Grouse is a can’t-miss. Even if you’re just there for the morning meal, the local, farm-fresh ingredients are incredible. If you’re looking for a great New England inn escape where you’re treated like family, this is it. We can’t wait to return in May!"

"My wife Cecilia have been big fans of the Kimpton Taconic since it opened and someone each stay is more memorable than the last. If you are looking for an authentic and elevated New England bed and breakfast experience, the Taconic fits that bill in every regard. Special thank you to (i) hotel General Manager Nicholas, who makes sure that the guest experience is beyond first rate, (ii) front desk manager Jaydoura, who went above and beyond to ensure that each of our requests throughout our stay were taken care of and (iii) facilities supervisor Mike who oversaw a recent refresh of the guest rooms and cottages. We also wanted to recognize housekeeping ace Shannon, who not only greeted us so warmly every morning but also went out of her way to pick up small bottles of mouthwash at local store as the front desk had run out. That is just one example of how attentive the entire staff treats guests at the Taconic. As residents of New York City, we savor each and every stay at the Taconic to get away from it all and enjoy the great state of Vermont."

"Always a pleasant experience here. Staff is always friendly and helpful, rooms always clean and quiet, dog always welcome, etc. etc. etc. We try to come here at least once a year, usually for our anniversary - they always leave us something for the occasion (though I did notice that it was a bit leaner this year - used to be prosecco and a cheese plate, e.g….this year Just the prosecco so I had to hit the store in town for the cheese and crackers) - but the hotel is our tradition and will continue to be so…"
