PB hotel design editorial

Planted firmly in Bellevue's rapidly thickening skyline, a 32-story mixed-use tower clad in white concrete paneling and accented by a vivid orange crown announced a particular ambition when W Bellevue opened in 2018: to transplant the brand's urban energy into a city that had only recently graduated from suburb to genuine metropolis. The tower, developed as part of the broader Bellevue Collection retail and residential precinct, carries 245 guest rooms across its upper floors, the building's stacked balconies and curtain-wall glazing giving every room an unobstructed sightline over Lake Washington or the Olympic Mountains. Inside, the interiors pursue the signature W formula — saturated color against dark neutrals, sensory layering, aggressive lighting design — with rooms furnished around ribbed metallic headboards, freestanding soaking tubs positioned against floor-to-ceiling glass, and custom plaid throw blankets in magenta and plum that anchor an otherwise graphite-and-grey palette. The carpet pattern, a splattered floral bleed in crimson and rose, adds a deliberately restless quality underfoot. The bar spaces shift registers entirely: one venue wraps a curved black-granite counter with cascading brass rod installations overhead and blue plaid barstools, while a second leans on an illuminated white bar surface and a large-scale hand-drawn mural in black line work. Together they telegraph the property's interest in mood over coherence — a city still figuring out its own identity reflected back through a hotel doing much the same.

"Lovely hotel and great service. The rooms are beautifully designed and very clean. The breakfast was awesome in their restaurant. We had a welcome beverage on the patio of the main level bar which is a gorgeous space with a fireplace. The gym is massive and very modern. It’s located in a mall complex and walking distance to many shops and restaurants. Would stay here again when visiting the Seattle area."

"This has become our go-to hotel every NYE to rein in the new year. The front desk team has always made us feel valued. They are always very friendly, helpful, and professional. They recognize my Platinum membership and provide a great room upgrade automatically without question. Free breakfast vouchers at the Lakehouse restaurant beside the W are also offerred. Silvia even remembered me from last year! When the lounge was closed until 4pm and I needed a beer during the afternoon, Jeremiah went behind the bar served me a cold one. Every time we came down to go somewhere in Bellevue, everyone always greeted us with smiles. Even the housecleaning folks you see in the hallways seemed happy. This extra touch of service definitely doesn't go unnoticed, and we will continue to stay at this special W whenever it's that special time of year."

"A very nice location with connections to the malls within the area so you can avoid rainy days. There is also public transportation that is 5-12 min walk if you want to go downtown. It takes about 30-40 min to the airport from this location. I was on the 12th floor, so the view was amazing. I felt like I had the honeymoon suite. The beds were super comfortable and there is no noise either. It's really the first time I saw a shower in the middle of the room made of glass, there is some privacy to the bathroom since there are pocket doors that separate the room from the bathroom. If you saw those celebrity homes with their bathroom within their closet, that's exactly how it felt. I like how the toilet is separate as well. I was a bit surprised they didn't offer free Wi-Fi for the guest because the rooms are very expensive. You do get it for free if you are a member and there was nothing free if you take something from the mix bar either. They actually charged me for a tote bag that I didn't even know was in the room. I say check your bill before checking out because that came to a surprise to me. I did call the hotel, and they are working on my refund. The service was amazing at the front desk. I want to shout out to Beatrice who showed me where the bus stop was and also recommended a great breakfast spot that isn't too far from the hotel. I like how they offer free bottles of water upon request and they also have apples. The gym beautiful. Felt a little like a lounge. It was very well equipped. They even have a punching bag. I like how there is a pool table for the guest to use as well. The entrance to the W hotel was a bit strange and the concierge was actually located on the 2nd floor."

"We are here now and having a terrible stay. Neighbor is blasting their tv, very loud and we can’t sleep. Called 4 times to request help. Manager was dismissive of our concerns. Said he really couldn’t do anything and its our problem. We can’t wait to leave this place."

"This is the most awesome, elegant and beautiful hotel. The amenities and service is total luxury. I took my daughter to the W for her 40th birthday to spend qualify time and enjoy the special ambience of the Bellevue Square. We had so much fun and will be going back every year for that special Mom & Daughter time."
